Does the Universe Have Your Back?

Does the Universe have your back?

I wanted to share a story from my life that embodied for me that the Universe has my back.

15 months ago my ex partner of 10 years told me out of the blue he was leaving me. Of course now I see that was all perfect but at the time I was devastated, he was the love of my life, but obviously I wasn’t for him.

Anyway, after having been in some kind of relationship for 25 years I was in shock about how I was going to survive on my own. I had spent most of my time raising our kids, and supporting my partners in their jobs. The way I had been raised. Make someone else’s life run smoother. Sounds simplistic but whatever I wanted to do professionally always felt like some little hobby I had.

He didn’t leave for 3 months which was hugely challenging, but not long before he left, an old friend out of the blue emailed me to tell me he had won first division in lotto, 1 million dollars, and wanted to show his gratitude to me for how he felt I had been a friend to him over the years, and asked me to let him know whatever I wanted.

Needless to say I cried for days about that. He saw me right to get up on my feet and was there just when I needed some kind of stability.

Whenever I’m scared and worried about how I’m going to manage, I remember how Rob was there when I needed an anchor.

Thanks Rob Browning 🙂

My mom has been preaching to me about the Universe having my back and creating your own reality since I was young. It’s only now in my late 20’s that I am starting to understand that, yes, I really CAN create my own reality and yes, the Universe DOES have my back. My story goes as follows:

My Kiwi husband and I finally made the decision to move back to the US, as that is where my family is, and I really want to start a family of my own. I was fretting about money and having enough of it to pay off our debt here and then getting us to the US and then having enough to settle down once there. The task of saving seemed insurmountable and the anxiety of “what if I can’t afford to go home” was literally keeping me up at night. I called my Mommy, in a panic and crying, and she said, “Jesse, tell the Universe want you need, and BELIEVE that it will be taken care of for you.”

That night I did just that. I guess you can say I prayed, for lack of a better term, but it was to the Universe and not to a god or goddess. A few nights after I asked for help I had a dream that my husband and I won $10,000 in the lottery. The next morning I made my hubby buy tickets which, considering how anti-lotto I am, was rather odd. But being the great man he is my husband bought two tickets without question. When we didn’t win anything I was kinda bummed, but thought, ‘hey, it’s your own fault for playing the stupid lotto.’

A few days after that I was having dinner with my husband and mom-in-law. Mom-in-law then told us that a relative, who recently died, had left us $10,000 and that the paperwork would take a bit to clear, but we should have the money in a few months. I was so stunned I blurted out, “So THAT’S where the $10,000 comes from!” Needless to say my mom-in-law was a bit confused, and didn’t believe me at all when I told her I manifested the money. That’s okay, though. She doesn’t need to believe. I believe and that is all that matters. I thank Aunty Betty (the relative who died) every night before I go to bed because she has made it possible for us to move back to the US.

Thank you, Aunty Betty. And thank you, Universe.

Awesome story Jessica. Its funny, I was just watching Deepak Chopra on youtube and he was talking about how his spiritual teacher wanted him to pack up and go to India to study, and he said, but how will I pay the mortgage? His teacher said, the money will come from whereever it is now.
I thought that was a great saying, like its somewhere else it just has to come to you.
