Are You Physically And Emotionally Affected By Mass Consciousness?

I was having a cord cutting session today with Anna Sayce. I wanted to cut the cord between myself and and one of the people who died in the Christchurch Earthquakes.

This person passed away during the February Earthquake in Christchurch. I had briefly met him once as he was my son’s friend. My son wanted to raise money for this guy’s partner and her small children not long after. So I helped Morgan set up a website for that. Of course I was deeply moved by his story.

His sister came into my life in a bigger way in the last month. Talking to her I realised that I had this image in my mind of her, from the newspapers, from tv coverage, and from youtube. All I could see in my mind when I looked at her was “earthquakes”. Of course talking about her brother made me feel teary, but I noticed how drained and heavy I felt after talking to her. I figured it was the emotion of it all. Or I figured it was my mediumship skills igniting.

So, if I saw her as the *earthquake girl*, how many other people worldwide were part of that mass consciousness that saw her that way and were keeping her stuck in that energy of the *earthquake girl*? Was that image of her contributing to not allowing myself to move on, or her to move on?

It got me to thinking about other things that affect you from the energy of the collective input. It doesn’t have to all be in the negative, but it certainly can be influencing you.

So think about your favourite music videos? On youtube. If you watch a video and it doesn’t have many hits, it feels different than when you watch it and it’s got millions of hits. You feel the mass consciousness, the focus being all on that one video. It’s probably no different than a rock concert where you feel the crowd vibe, but we are still experiencing group energy even though we aren’t apparently physically standing in a group. If I watch a popular music video on youtube, it sticks in my head all day or all night, much like if I had seen that artist live.

I had an abortion, which I have written a lot about on my blog. There’s a ton of energy in the collective consciousness about this issue. It’s a loaded topic. The negative impact worldwide has surely affected my energy.

This might be why there’s an awful atmosphere when you walk into certain public places like Govt departments, IRD, banks etc. All that negative energy being aimed their way. Or when you go into certain department stores there’s a atmosphere of spending and it’s often not a nice feeling. I used to find I would get quite anxious at the super market check out, how many people before me had stood in that same spot and worried about how they would pay?

Being empathic I think I’m just sensitive to this energy, but I thought how I was feeling was just about my health issues. But its bigger than that. The heavy energy I am carrying might even be from my daily visits to facebook even?

There is probably an underlying reason I am open to experiencing these group energies. I think one reason is as simple as wanting to be connected. So therefore I am vulnerable to being influenced and swept up in this energy, it’s all happening on an unconscious level.

Here’s a prayer you can say that disconnects you from that group consciousness:

Jesus (or any other deity you like) locate all the astral ties between me and xyz (anyone I talked to, read about, interacted with etc, or say the earthquake group consciousness, the IRD, a certain music artist and their fans, facebook etc)

Cut and dissolve all of them now.

Then fill everyone who desires it, with love and light, power and peace.

Can you think of anything in the mass consciousness that has been physically affecting you?

    Hi Kate!
That’s a great prayer to do for the end of the day too, to get rid of “stuff” we collect throughout the day.

I’m an empath too, and I resonate with what you wrote here.

Yesterday, my hubby and I were looking forward to watch this t.v. series that started last night. It’s been advertised for a long time, highly anticipated for sure. It looked interesting and it could be something we could watch together. The first 5 mintes of it were terrible, and I knew I didn’t like it. Got a yucky vibe about the show, but kept watching b/c my hubby seemed interested. Within the first 20 minutes the main character killed 3 people. The last killing that happened, I just couldn’t take it anymore. I said to my hubby, “I’m sorry, but I just can’t watch this anymore. Enjoy!” And I left the room.
He got a little upset when I left, but I told him I just couldn’t take all that.
And I can watch everything! But that series in particular just gave me the weirdest vibe ever.

I’m glad I honored myself and my sensitivity!

    Great post!

Hi Frances, what TV show was that? Im generally ok with movies and tv shows, but less ok with the news on TV. I will look up online and read about the news, but when it appears on TV it affects me more than if I watch it online. Perhaps more people watch TV than watch online.

I quit watching the news on tv about 3 years ago as an experiment to see if I felt happier. I did, so I kept to it. I avoid violence, sick twisted stuff and dark films and tv shows. They may be really incredible artistically, but I have decided that positive happy input creates positive happy output. At the end of the day, I find out the main headlines of the news from my email account. I don’t feel the need to add my energy to news. It’s so negative. It’s not really the news, it’s really the bad news. Not much good news gets shown on the so called news. I think it’s a valid choice to intentionally look on the bright side of life. Some people may look at the news and feel better about their lives. I look at the news and take it on board too much. I am getting better at shutting off to things a bit more now. But it’s a skill that I am developing slowly. I believe that what you focus on grows, so focusing on good things and positives is a form of spiritual activism, even if it looks like apathy. It’s not. It’s deliberate and intentional promotion of joy, happiness, healing and positivity.
